I am a Iranian sociological documentary photographer, and I also work in the field of performance art and creating documentary moving images of my own life. Since I have always been concerned with issues related to women, my works revolve around femininity, feminism, and identity, and throughout my career, I have studied and researched my own life. It is important to me that when the audience encounters my works, they can see and feel a part of themselves and their own existence in them. The most important feature of my works is the presence of liberating knowledge, and for all these years, I have strived to ensure that my works are free from stereotypes and do not present a distorted or exaggerated image of Iranian women’s lives. Instead, I aim to portray the reality that Iranian women consistently strive for liberation and engage in thoughtful struggle.
Since I live in Tehran, Iran, I find it difficult to engage in discussions with other women and artists outside of Iran due to the numerous laws that restrict women and the countless sanctions imposed. I am very eager to connect with others who share a critical approach to issues related to women and the environment in different countries and to discuss my works and the reasons behind creating them. I wish to share my works with other artists around the world and travel to other countries through my art and conversations. I hope to participate in exhibitions and artist residencies with women who have common goals, and, with a critical approach to political, social, economic, and cultural issues, to perform group performances in public spaces and streets.
