Cindy Grisdela is an artist specializing in improv design and using color fearlessly in quiltmaking. Her work has been exhibited widely, has won awards in both quilt venues and art venues ,and can be found in private collections all over the country.

She is also a teacher, and author of Artful Improv and Adventures in Improv Quilts, both books about creating original quilts without patterns. She is passionate about helping others explore their own creativity and make original quilts of their own design. 

Cindy travels extensively in the US teaching Improv Design and Piecing to guilds, groups, and retreats. She also teaches online on Zoom and in on demand classes at Creative Spark Online Learning.

Cindy lives in Reston, VA and maintains a studio at the Artists Atelier in Great Falls, VA.
